Georgia – Svaneti (Mestia, Uschguli)

Svaneti as a one of the most remote areas of Georgia is the land of medieval defense towers, breathtaking nature, including ten of the highest peks of the Caucasus mountains. The excellent ski touring and ski mountaineering conditions are enriched with culinary delights and delicious wine tasting in the evenings.
The ski adventure takes the place in picturesque valleys full of powder snow and the Caucasian majestic giants as the Ushba mountain, the Shkhara mountain or the mountain range Bezengi. The tour passes through the villages and various settlements untouched and unblemished by the civilization where the pleasure in the powder snow can be fully enjoyed.
The ski resorts Tetnuldi and Hatsvali also suitable for free riding can be visited in a case of unfavourable ski touring conditions.

Departures possible from Katowice, Prague and Vienna, meeting in Kutaisi (Georgia) at the airport.
The date will be specified according to the flight schedule. Staff: 5 people per mountain guide

1.190 € / per person in a group of 5 – 10 people

Price Includes
Guiding by a IMFGA mountain guide and the costs of organizing and scheduling the tour, the guide´s accomodation and food costs
Price does not include
Transportation, flight tickets, the airport transport, accomodation and food, the transportation costs by car during the ski touring trips within Georgia
Expected extra costs per person:
the flight tickets 250-450 €, accomodation and food 300-400 €, the transportation withing Georgia during the tour 100-180 €
Tour schedule
6 full days of freetouring !!!
Day 1: flight to Kuthaisi, transportation to Mestia
Day 2: Mestia, short skitouring in Mestia, early evening Uschguli
Day 3 – 6: ski touring, Uschguli
Day 7: ski touring, departure towards Kutaisi
Day 10: return flight home
The tour schedule can be adjusted to the requirements of the participants and the lenght of stay. Regarding the weather and snow conditions the changes in the planned schedule can be done.
Why an 8-day trip? To enjoy great backcountry skiing in less time.
Catskiing and Freetouring option
The prolonged tour schedule includes 3 extra days of freeriding in Bachmar. The transportation of skiers is provided by a snowcat. It is an ideal plan for those who wish to enjoy freetouring without putting an effort into the ascents on the skis. It is just an ideal plan to enjoy Georgia on ski with less effort. The full accomodation and food services are provided in Bachmar. No further hesitation is needed as the Georgian- Czech cuisine and tasty red wine are included. The tour is available for the group up to 12 people. The final price can be provided on request.
